Colonus was an area located near Athens. Oedipus had arrived here after blinding himself, and he was met by a chorus of men who urged him to leave since he was trespassing holy grounds. Oedipus meets with the king of Athens, Theseus, who befriends him and helps him. Eventually, Oedipus dies, and his body is buried somewhere in Colonus.
